I always see tons of things on groupon that seem awesome, but I can never get myself to buy them. I think about it while I'm at work and always forget to but them when I get home. The pressure of having to purchase right then is sometimes to much for me to handle. But, this came up on a Saturday and I couldn't let it pass buy. Boxing/kick boxing classes for a month. PERFECT - I've wanted to take boxing classes for years now and this was my chance. What made it even better is a friend that lives about 3 blocks from me purchased it as well, so we convinced ourselves we'd go and push each other together.
For the 1st week, I couldn't walk; every inch of my body killed. Stairs...hahaha, didn't happen. But after the initial pain, it was awesome. I felt so buff and in shape, but than my body decided it hated me.
1st) Bruised knuckles. Even thought your hands are wrapped and you have gloves on, pain is still inflicted on your knuckles. I looked like I was a rape victim. People at work were shocked when they saw me. You can't really tell in this picture, but you get an idea.
2nd) My foot. Kicking the bag hurt a lot more than I thought it would. About the 2nd kick, I was in pain. I went to work and my foot was killing me. I took off my shoe and discovered my foot was very bruised. I really thought I had a hairline fracture for quite some time, but it slowly got better.
3rd) My wrist. We sometimes did partner work. Well, my friend missed the pad and kicked me straight on the wrist. It didn't really hurt but I think it weakened it greatly. We went back to the bags and after my first right hook, it KILLED. I came home and iced it, figuring it would be fine. I went to a class a few days later and after 1 punch, it totally gave out. Yikes, I was done for. I couldn't grip or lift a thing for about 2 1/2 weeks. I broked down and even bought an ace bandage for it to get a little extra support especially since I could barely type (and that's all I do at my job). It's still a little painful if I put pressure on it or try to do pushups, but it's slowly getting better.
I really wanted to renew after 1 month, but I decided after 2 significant injuries it would probably be best if I stay away (oh and the class my friend and I could go to together was at 6am...ya 6am). Luckily my in-laws got me boxing gloves and Clark the hand pads for Christmas. Now we can box each other. We've used them already a few times and it's awesome. No huge accidents yet, although Clark did half way miss the pad and kind of punch me in the face, hillarious, he felt so bad.

I love the last sentence in your blog... hahaha. Spouse abuse. :) I miss you two! Glad to hear you are doing well!
